Summer Reading

It was a quiet weekend at Captain Joe's. The scattered rain showers and cooler temperatures seemed to chase everyone indoors. And that's not a bad thing. I learned a few years ago not to apologize to vacationers for cooler temperatures or a rainy day: many are visiting Maine from places where it's been 90 degrees out with 90% humidity since May 15th. A cool break can be quite welcome.

So I've been catching up on some summer reading. The surprise so far has been "A Man with One of Those Faces" by Caimh McDonnell. Its a crime/comedy story that reminded me a lot of the Fletch stories: a good plot, well written, and quite a few laugh out loud moments. And if you're into Irish humor, this book is definitely for you. Its book one of a 4 book "trilogy" (of course) so hopefully the remaining stories are just as entertaining.

What are you reading this summer?
