So about that last post.

Turns out "the end" was a little premature. Captain Joe's Cruises is back for the summer — and this time with a new boat: the Luna Belle, a 27' Ranger Tug R27-OB. She's six feet longer than the Ruby Belle, runs a clean outboard instead of the little diesel, and has enough room to actually stretch out. Same Ranger Tug DNA — the distinctive look that turns heads at every dock — just with a bit more boat underneath you.

The Ruby Belle was a wonderful first chapter. The Luna Belle is the next one.

What does that mean for cruisers? More space, more comfort, and the ability to go a little farther afield. The lower Saco is still home base — still the eagles, still the seals, still the sturgeon doing their thing — but the bigger boat opens up some options we didn't have before. Longer runs out into the bay. More time at Wood Island Lighthouse. Going to the OOB Pier and back is no longer a day trip.

I'll be honest — I wasn't sure I'd be back this season. The Monarch ISC "day job" hasn't gotten any quieter (cybercrime, alas, doesn't take summers off). But standing on the dock looking at a new boat, in Maine, in June, you remember why you started doing this in the first place.

Six passengers, same friendly river, a bigger and more capable boat. The schedule's open, the Luna Belle is ready, and as for the name — well, you'll have to ask me about that one in person.

Come on out.

Captain Joe
